To those of you who have visited this page before, this may be a change you never expected: the store has disappeared, replaced by this Blog.

But that’s not the most accurate description. This page was meant to be a Blog in the first place. The store was an “add-on” idea after.

Here’s the story.

I felt these days a lot of men have gotten more “casual” not only in the way they dress (e.g. comfort over style), but also in the way they behave (e.g. poor phone manners in public). I had just retired from corporate management, so I thought it would be a good idea that I started a Blog to communicate my values as a gentleman, on all aspects of life.

The Blog turned out to be a Vlog on Instagram, in response to the social media era.

In the process of building my online presence, I thought it may be a good idea to also include a shop, so I can bring together things that live up to the traditional gentleman code of style.

I managed to create 15 product categories within a year, and building a sophisticated online shop. Something I am very proud of.

But that comes at a high price - the store absorbs my time and energy like a black hole. It’s like a full-time job.

At the same time my IG is getting a lot traction, with a fast growing audience who enjoys the content that I enjoy making.

So common sense tells me that I have to choose one or the other, not both.

And the decision is clear and final.

With the new CHESS Gentlemen Blog, I hope to extend my online presence in my key areas of interest, i.e the gentleman lifestyle, such as traditional gentleman’s dress and etiquette, convertible cars, motorbikes, travel, food and humanities.

Some content will be unique to this Blog, some will be extensions of my IG reels and stories.

It will soon be 2026, so my articles will have short sentences, to the point, and mostly take just 2 minutes to read - just like this one you are reading!

My goal is to build my permanent presence beyond Instagram and Youtube, because this is the only platform that truly belongs to me that can’t be be taken down just because I said something Mark Zuckerberg doesn’t like!

I hope to see you more here, and join me as a subscriber to show your support.
